Two RML Projects Featured in TMU Research News
Two RML projects were featured in a TMU Research News article on how TMU researchers are leveraging VR technology.
De-escalation VR Training for Emergency Responders In collaboration with Prof. Natalie Álvarez (The Creative School) and Prof. Jennifer Lavoie (Wilfrid Laurier University), this NFRF-funded project develops immersive VR scenarios to train Canada’s emergency responders — including Ontario police — in mental health crisis de-escalation.
Stress Reduction Through Adaptive VR Games In partnership with Shaftesbury, this NSERC-funded project uses machine learning to monitor children’s physiological stress signals (including heart rate) in real time and dynamically adapt VR game content — helping reduce anxiety before complex medical procedures such as surgery.
