Congratulations to Julian True! His paper “Motion Vector Extrapolation for Video Object Detection” won the Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the CVPR 2021 Robust Video Understanding Workshop.
The paper demonstrates that leveraging motion vectors from compressed video can decrease object detection latency by up to 25× while maintaining detection accuracy — a significant advance for real-time video understanding on resource-constrained devices.
